How to Heal Acne, Exhaustion and Constipation Naturally. Nutrition Case Study.
Make it stand out
see ya later acne.
My client fully transformed her health by working with me 1:1 with my 5 month package.
If youβre unsure why working with me is worth it or youβre just curious about the process, I thought Iβd share this gut health case study as a type of testimonial. I will discuss why the client booked in with me, Jordan Bruce Nutrition, as well as what testing we did and how sheβs feeling now.
Common reasons clients book with me:
bloating
constipation
PCOS
fertility prep
endometriosis/adenomyosis
acid reflux
IBD
perimenopause
intolerance to many foods
PMS/period pain
stress and nervous system support
& more
This client came to me with:
constipation, going every 2-3 days
bloating
moderate to severe acne, was debating more antibiotics and the birth control pill
exhaustion, no motivation, needed to nap daily
brain fog
headaches
low mood, depressed
What we did:
1. Started with a constipation protocol because feeling backed up is uncomfortable. It can also lead to dysbiosis and change estrogen levels in the body. Within one week on this protocol, her bowel movements were already almost daily.
2. Ordered a GI-MAP test. This client went to her GP and her dermatologist about her concerns prior. She tried some medications and nothing provided long lasting change. Therefore, she wanted to test her gut health to get answers as to why she was experiencing acne, bloating and brain fog.
3. Once the gut health test results are back, I write a custom protocol based on the results, our hour long intake notes and the clientβs goals. I also write out all the test results so the client understands it and can refer back to it if needed. This is the opposite of a protocol you get at a naturopath (sorry, I hate to say it, but they usually write your tips while youβre in the room so they are minimal and often heavily rely on tons supplements). My model is completely different - check out my google maps reviews or the testimonials at the bottom of my homepage.
Her test results show she had high H. pylori bacteria, high candida levels, a parasite and a very elevated immune response to gluten.
This explained her results!
4. Client followed a protocol with lifestyle suggestions, nutrition tips, herbs for H. pylori for approximately 3 months. She did travel in Europe and stopped most herbs and ate differently. She cut out gluten while healing her gut. We scheduled one follow up and left the remaining 2 for the next phases (stomach acid support, more sustainable nutrition changes, liver love). PS did you know H. pylori can contribute to acne? Book in for a stool test to rule this out.
5. We stayed in touch on the Practice Better App (or browser). This allowed my client to message me anytime with quick questions instead of having to use an appointment. This allows clients to feel thereβs accountability, lots of support and allows for more progress over our 5 months together. I reply the same day or within 1 business day.
6. Phase 2 followed which focused on candida and a parasite. She was starting to feel better, but knew this needed to be tackled for more energy, cravings, acne and immunity.
7. Phase 3 we worked on her stomach acid production as H. pylori lowers this. Itβs important to have enough stomach acid to digest food, absorb nutrients, but also kill pathogens (bacteria, parasites). If youβre often getting food poisoning, letβs work together to improve your digestion. We kept in touch via chat and did one more follow-up to wrap up and leave her feeling prepared for being on her own.
I hope this was helpful for you. The transformation by working together in a 5 month container is so expansive. My client can now focus on school, her social life and being an athlete. Her mother has now signed up for gut health and perimenopause support and has already improved her sleep within the first week of working together.
The biggest compliment I get from clients is the chat M-F as they felt so supported. You canβt get that support in an a la carte approach.
