Testing Your Stool in The Name of Health: GI MAP Test
I do not recommend food sensitivity tests
I do not recommend Viome microbiome testing
I do not recommend leaky gut testing
I do not recommend zonulin testing
I DO RECOMMEND THE GI-MAP test.
Why? Well, the The Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus measures gastrointestinal microbiota DNA in your stool using quantitative polymerase chain reaction technology. This test is more sensitive than other stool tests. It will also tell you how much of a microbe is present (versus a simple positive or negative).
Here is a sample report
The GI-MAP test does NOT tell you which foods to eat or avoid based on your stool, aside from the anti-gliadin marker. This test is used to get to the root cause of your gut symptoms. This is a medical test used when people have symptoms of digestive disorders.
